The Graves of Albert & Elizebeth Grandy-
I took this photo in a small cemetery in western Michigan. It wasn't until I had gotten home, and started editing the photos that I really took a good look at the information on the tombstones.
Elizebeth died in 1868 at 22 years of age. Albert died in 1903 at 74 years of age. He out lived his wife by 35 years.
It is a story all to common in the 18th century- minor accidents, disease, childbirth- things that we don't give much thought to today as taking someone's life were deadly before antibiotics and modern medical care, especially in rural America.-
I am curious, did Albert re-marry? or did live out the rest of his days heart broken over the loss of his beloved wife?
In the end, they are together again.........
